Video guides

The videos complement the manuals with practical demonstrations of OVRPICK installation and the main light-up pickguard controls.

Installing an OVRPICK

See how an OVRPICK is positioned above the guitar’s existing pickguard without drilling, rewiring or permanently modifying the instrument.

Quick guide: controls and lighting modes

See the main controls, lighting-mode selection, Sound and Movement sensitivity, brightness, battery display, charging and deep sleep.

OVRPICK standard installation procedure

OVRPICK is positioned directly above the existing pickguard. No drilling, rewiring or permanent modification of the guitar is required.

  1. Loosen the guitar strings sufficiently to create enough space above the existing pickguard.
  2. Carefully slide the OVRPICK between the strings and the original pickguard.
  3. Align the OVRPICK with the outline of the existing pickguard and position its magnets over the compatible screw heads.
  4. Check that the OVRPICK is correctly positioned and securely held.
  5. If a magnet does not make sufficient contact with a screw head, slightly adjust the height of the corresponding screw without removing it.
  6. If the existing screws are not attracted by the magnets, replace them with compatible magnetic screws.
  7. Retighten the strings and tune the guitar.
The original pickguard and its screws do not need to be removed. Watch the OVRPICK installation video above for a practical demonstration.

Charging and storage

  • Charge the pickguard through its USB-C port with an undamaged cable and a compliant USB power supply.
  • The charging LED [7] is on while charging and switches off when charging is complete.
  • A fully discharged battery generally takes approximately 50 minutes to charge.
  • Do not use the pickguard while it is charging.
  • For long-term storage, keep it dry and temperate and check or recharge the battery at least every three months.

Safe use and care

  • Designed for indoor and dry use.
  • Do not expose the product to water, rain, liquid splashes, condensation or excessive heat.
  • Do not open, drill, cut, bend, heat or attempt to repair the pickguard.
  • Clean only with a soft, dry and clean cloth.
  • Stop using and charging the product if you notice swelling, leakage, excessive heat, visible damage or abnormal behaviour.

Best visual and audio results

  • Direct sunlight or an excessively powerful spotlight reduces the apparent brightness and contrast of the lighting effects.
  • Slight interference may depend on the guitar, pickups, electromagnetic protection, cavity shielding, amplifier and effects settings, lighting mode, LED brightness and Sound sensitivity.
  • If interference becomes noticeable, reduce Sound sensitivity and/or brightness, select another effect, move away from loudspeakers or use Movement Mode.

Important firmware-update warning

Never hold buttons [1], [2], [3] and [4] simultaneously for more than three seconds unless expressly instructed by FirstlyMusic.

This combination activates firmware update mode. The pickguard will then remain unusable until the update has been completed.

No routine firmware update is required. If this mode is activated accidentally, contact FirstlyMusic.
